The foundation of ECHO’s programs starts with our Learn to Play and Mini Mite programs.
These programs offer a fun, skill based introduction to the sport and develop our
skaters in their preparation to travel hockey.
ECHO offers full travel hockey for the Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam age groups.
For those who are not looking for the commitment of travel hockey ECHO offers
an In-House program for skaters of all ages.
ECHO’s travel teams are USA Hockey sanctioned and participate in the Connecticut Hockey Conference
in tiers 2, 3 and 4. All tier placements are based upon a full team talent evaluation.
ECHO has a target roster size of 10-13 skaters and 1-2 goalies per team.
Manageable roster sizes allow for maximum player development in games and practices.
ECHO’s uniform features a personalized jersey with matching socks and pant shells which provide our players
with a professional look as they take the ice.

Each team is allotted two on ice practice sessions per week.
80% of practice time is spent on skills stations with an emphasis on maximizing player repetitions and puck touches.
In addition to practice development each travel team plays 35-50 games per season.
ECHO teams traditionally participate in 1-2 competitive tournaments per season.
Practices are modeled after USA Hockey’s American Development Model(ADM)
which focuses on skill development and competition.
ECHO has partnered with ProCrease to provide and implement a goalie development curriculum.
ProCrease offers goalie clinics througout the season which offers training in a group session.
To supplement development needs in the off season ECHO offers
“ECHO Rising Stars”summer clinic.
This clinic offers 8 weeks of on-ice development that keeps skaters active in the off-season
and well pepared for the upcoming season.
ECHO’s coaching staff is 100% volunteers.
Every coach is USA Hockey certified
and committed to continue their coaching education throughout their entire coaching career in
ECHO’s coaches are both non-parent and parent volunteers who bring to the ice decades of
hockey experience to help shape the next generations of hockey players.
