Hockey Director

Meet Coach Dan Gibson (aka Coach Dan)

Coach Dan began his youth hockey career with the Wallingford Hawks, before moving on to Middlesex and a tier-one state championship as a squirt, and the Springfield Pics as a peewee. Dan was selected to play for Team Connecticut as a squirt, peewee, and bantam, and during these years also played on various AAA tournament teams in both the US and Canada.

Dan spent his high school career playing varsity hockey at Kingswood Oxford (as a freshman and sophomore) and for legendary prep coach John Gardner at Avon Old Farms (junior and senior). After Avon, Dan went on to play four years of NCAA hockey at Wesleyan University, graduating from Wesleyan with a degree in neuroscience and behavior in 1999.

Dan currently works as an intellectual property attorney, and lives in Glastonbury with his wife, Christina, and three children, Emily, Tommy, and Alex (Tommy and Alex play for ECHO as a second year mite and second year peewee respectively).

Coach Dan is already a familiar face at the Bolton Ice Palace, where he currently is on the Peewee A and Mite A coaching staffs, and has acted as vice president and organization director over the past two seasons. In his role as Hockey Director, Dan will oversee tryouts, selection of teams and coaches, and general coaching strategy throughout the organization.

We are very excited to have Coach Dan in this role!
